How do I go about applying for a job with the U.N i.e what channels can one foIlow to apply for a job with this organization especially since I have not yet found any gaps in their education and science sectors? First, find out what UN agencies would most need your qualification. Given your background, I would suppose that would be the World Health Center.

I suggest you study the positions that WHO is looking for in their employment page http://www.who.int/employment/recruitment/en/index.html

Or for other UN organizations check with https://jobs.un.org/Galaxy/Release3/vacancy/vacancy.aspx

You have a PhD degree so you can very well qualify for a PS position (professional).

wow, aren't you a clever bean? My dad worked for them for seven years in the international police taskforce, but he got into that through being a civilian copper. Don't know what you can do except track down their recruitment email and bombard it with your Cv until you get a response. Good luck.
