I haven't participated around here very long, but I have noticed that there seems to be an extraordinary amount of questions that deal with race and racial issues. I have also noticed that even the ones which seem to call for an end to racism are worded specifically to incite the very thing that on the surface it denounces. Do you think that all questions concerning racial divide actually promote that division, or do you feel the conversations and comments that result are changing peoples views and fostering healing?

Whoa, that's a discussion that could go on forever.

When it comes to racial relations, any comment a person makes can blow up. I think in some cases it makes the division worse because people can get on here and rant and rave in anonimity and spread their racists ideas, but it also helps because there might be people out there that certain beliefs ingrained in them as a child and hearing other's opinions might open them up to forming their own opinion.

Don't take too much serious in YAnswers. Some people are willing to voice what they really feel, but others are making everything up so how do you distinguish the two apart? I also think that people are afraid to write what they really feel as it goes against the majority of opinions that were already voiced. To me, this site is just entertainment and nothing that is voiced here is going to change anything.

Communication is good. Having an open mind to other points of view is the beginning of understanding. It helps.

If these subjects could be discussed in an open, intelligent manner than I think it would help us understand our cultural differences. Too bad there are far to many trolls who get off by being stupid.

I have noticed the same,..and it saddens me that we can not get along better.

Respect goes a long way.
freedom of speech and thought is one thing, hate, racism, and prejuice is another.
