I'm thinking about leaving my girlfriend and I know for a fact that she will file for child support. What percent of my wages will be garnished for child support after all the paper work is processed? I'm not heartless, I'm just exploring everypossible end result of my actions. Thanks!!

state and federal government is tired of people who dont pay their child support, so thats why they passed so many strict child support laws. every year, they keep getting stronger too.

well, here is a CS calculator; just click on your state and fill it in. since the baby will be young, she may not be expected to work until the baby is a certain age.

if she does, you will have to pay for day care as well.

it is now a federal offense to run across state lines to avoid child support. the end result, if you dont pay, they take your drivers license, tax refunds, and of course jail time.

here are also some more links; just click on your state and find the subject you need (child support, visitation, custody, etc).

i hope you show your child an example of being two mature adults, and just keep the child out of your personal fights.

" Generally, the obligation ends when the child reaches 18 years of age. If the child is already otherwise emancipated, payments will stop at the time of emancipation. If the child is still in primary or secondary school when he or she reaches the age of 18, support payments will continue until that child graduates, ceases to attend school on a regular basis, fails to make satisfactory academic progress towards graduation or reaches the age of 20 - whichever of these comes first. Based on its discretion, the court may order payments to cease at age 18, regardless of graduation date or any other factors. " On a side note... DUDE, what's with the avatar of the little girl, if you are a dude? I mean you say you would rather pay the child support to your daughter, as opposed to her mother.. you are her father then... why the avatar of a girl? That's kind of... twisted.
