Read in the Bible, I Corinthians 13 "The Love Chapter" where it says love is patient and kind and seeks not its own way at the expense of others. Love isn't boastful or proud and always believes in the positive. This love is such that it will gladly give its own life to save the life of another. It says that of faith, hope and love, love is the greatest. If love dies, it wasn't love in the first place, but something else like lust. Lust will always fail. This true kind of love is what has kept my wife and I married for over 28 years. If everyone could develop it, then there would be a much less number of divorces and broken families. It also fulfills the command Jesus gave us when He said to "love your neighbor as yourself". If everyone would practice it, there would be no war in the world.

The ONLY thing? I believe any relationship that is dependent on just one thing is doomed. There are many things that keep a good relationship going. If there is just one thing it (IMHO) is not a good relationship.

Here are some things I think are important. Mutual respect. careing , love, supportiveness, enjoyment of one another's company. common interests, ability to diagree without being disagreeable. constant forgiveness. acceptence of differences. respecting each other's friends and families.
