The average sedan is around 2000 pounds. SUVs built on car frames, like the Ford Freedom and Toyota RAV4, are about the same, 2000 pounds. Larger SUVs are about 3000-4000 pounds and the largest SUVs can be over 6000 pounds.

The Suburban weighs 3 tons or 6,000 pounds and is reputedly the heaviest "personal" vehicle on the road. However, that's bs because of vehicles like the Mercedes six-wheeler; it depends on what you call personal. The Tahoe, Ford Expedition and so forth weigh less; vans tend to weigh much less (around a ton less). Source: research and personal experience (vans don't actually weigh that much in relative terms).
