Is astrology/horoscopes related to karma/destiny, or are they totally seperate things that mean nothing to eachother? I was wonderign because for a project I need a symbolic meaning, and I was thinking of saying: I chose a taurus because that is my astrological sign and represents that I believe in destiny and karma, that all things happen for a reason.

It is all related it is like having a map about the adventure of you life and just finding the pieces when you need them : )

The lunar-nodes (points of interesection of the Earth's and Moon's orbits) are said to represent the beginings of Karmic cycles. Currently, the North node is in Pisces with the South node in Virgo from 2006-2018.
Also, the transit of Saturn though the houses is said to represent Karmic cycles in Vedic Astrology (it's called Vedic because it's based on the Hindu Vedas like Karma is). The transit of Saturn through the first three houses, for example, represents establishing new Karma (which means you have to let go of old Karma). Saturn spends roughly 2.5 years in each house, so a complete Saturn cycle is roughly 30 years.
