Definitely ... My children now 22, 19 and 13 have only had home remedies homeopathics, herbs, supplements, foods over the years for whatever they had wrong with them , earache, constipation, fevers, chickenpox, etc usual childhood things Maybe we have just been lucky not to be challenged by more severe illness but I have always felt that we are designed quite well to function using 'the herbs of the field', water, rest and 'clean food'. if we become ill .
It's only recently that my 22 yr old was prescribed antibiotics and had a massive reaction to them.. the joys of rebelling !!!
I'm not sure what you mean by 'real' medications, what could be more real than common sense solutions .

It depends on the medication. At one point people would consume white willow bark to releive pain. It was considered to be a home remedy. Now most everyone has taken it but now it is called asprin and made in a lab. Most of us have also been injected with mold or taken it internally. This is also know as penicillan. So you see home remedies do work but not all of them work for everyone. Just like not all prescription drugs work for everyone. Thats why there are many different versions of medication and the doctor change your prescription to a different but related drug. The problem is that many doctors have been brainwashed by the drug companies into beleiving that only prescription drugs will work.

I believe vitamins, minerals and herbal remedies are better than medication. Look at the problem with VIOXX. The doctors are more interested in treating the symptoms by masking them with prescriptions they must stay on forever. A good herbal doctor can get to the root of the problem and cure it and/or at least get you where you will have a better quality of life than being on the meds. The doctors are more interested in the money than your health. A lot of them don't know because they are only doing what they were taught. They were not taught to find the root of the problem. They give cholestrol lowering drugs which deplete
your bodies naturally produced Q10, magnesium and Vitamin E. They do not tell you you need to take these supplements to replenish them. Your heart needs magnesium in order to work.

I believe that they both have a place in our health. I prefer herbs, supplements, tentures, extracts, essences, but sometimes when the system has gotten too far out of balance you need to kick start it with drugs. And by the way, remedies are consider to be REAL medicine. The other stuff is drugs.

Well a huge part of feeling good is all in your head...seriously. When you THINK that something will make you feel better....it usually does. Our thoughts can and do have a very real impact on our bodies.

All I know is that I have never taken traditional medicine and I have never once had the flu, I don't ever get sick. The doctor says I am healthier than most people he sees. The drugs we pump into are children are only harming them.
