A lunar month is four 7 day weeks or 28 days. A calender month could be from 28 to 31 days. It is just the days in that specific named month like Jan. or May.

Quote from: The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth..By Henci Goer
""You may be surprised to learn that the conventional forty-week pregnancy length is completely arbitrary. It was established by a German obstetrician in the early 1800's. He simply declared that a pregnancy should last ten moon months, that is, ten months of 4 weeks each. However, when researchers in a 1990 study followed a group of healthy, white women, they discovered that pregnancy in first time mothers averaged eight days longer than this, and the average was 3 days longer in women with prior births. " ( 41 Weeks 1 day -first timers, 40 weeks 3 days - with prior births) Hope that answers your question!

when we talk about pregnacy in months it is lunar as not every month has the same amount of weeks thats why they say 40 weeks and again 1 week either way is fine... as they cant be exact.
