It hasn't happened to me. But i would recommend making an appointment with your OBGYN. They can do blood tests that a re much more accurate than home pregnancy tests. They can often give a false negative, especially ifs its too early in the pregnancy or if its your first pregnancy. And if you're not pregnant, she can help you figure out why your so late. Good luck!

The fact that you were sick, also stressed could effect your period. Usually, you can't have a false negative test. Which means, you're probably not pregnant. But, it may be a little too early to tell.
If it doesn't come within the next few days, you should take another test. Also, try taking the test first thing in the morning. Something about that 1st morning pee, it has more hormones in it. If it still comes out negative, you should go see a doctor just to be sure.

You should follow your own advice. Calm yourself down because your creating more anxiety for yourself. Having the flu and stress will weaken your immune system, and may cause your period to be late. But, all in all, you need to take a pregnancy test to confirm the news for yourself. And, that part of the stress, the wondering, will be over. If you are though, our due dates will be about the same, because I am 5 weeks pregnant, and my period was due about the 9th!

This has happened to me before. There are many reasons why your period can be late and stress and a cold are 2 of the biggest. Also, whenever you are worrIEd about being pregnant, every little "sign" that you see freaks you out, which causes you to be stressed out, which can make your period late! Another huge thing also, is if you have been hanging out with new girls (or around them a lot) ie: a new job? This can cause you to kind of get on their "schedule". I am sure you are not pregnant....

I had a false pregnancy, where I had cramps and my breasts were sore and swollen. The pregnancy tests I took where negative also. It lasted for about two months, then I went to the doctor and that's what I found out. I would just wait a while longer, chances of you being pregnant are slim if you used protection.

This actually just happened to me last month. Over Christmas I thought for sure I was going to be a mommy. I had flu like symptoms and cramping. I ended up getting my period. I have heard that our bodies can react to illness by delaying periods. That and just being stressed messes up your system. All those things together can delay it for you. I ended up being only 4 days late.

How old are you? Could your body be preparing for a change. I am not talking menopause, but as we progress in age our bodies change. That is what I have found anyways. My Doctor has even offered this conclusion to me when I am worried about my body. I am regular for years at a time, then suddenly it will change for me. Give your body a chance to calm down. Stress if a HUGE factor in how a woman's body will react. I think maybe being sick has not helped either.
Good Luck Sweetie.....
Sometimes its hard being a woman.
What do men have to complain about....LOL

I have skipped periods, due to stress, sickness etc... Freaking out is probably delaying your period all the more. Relax, if the tests came back negative your probably ok.

if you have functioning reproductive organs, and you've had sex, then YES, YOU COULD BE PREGNANT.
don't you know that condoms are NOT 100% EFFECTIVE?
pregnancy tests work by detecting hormones that are ONLY present during pregnancy, meaning it's common to get a false negative early, but very rare for there to be a false positive.
i suggest you see a doctor.
