You're on the right track: first separate the whites from the colors.

While you're separating, check the labels to make sure the clothes can be machine washed and don't need to be dry cleaned. Sometimes the labels will tell you other things, like whether the clothes should be washed in the delicate cycle, or not put in the dryer.

For whites you can use hot water. Bleach is optional.

For colors you should always use cold water. Only use COLOR-SAFE bleach on colors.

It looks like your washer only has two dials: one to choose how big the load is, and the other to choose wash cycle and temperature. Unless the clothes are delicate, the regular cycle should be fine.

Choose the load size by turning the small dial.

Choose the wash cycle and temperature by pushing the large dial down and turning it at the same time.

Start the washer by pulling on the large dial.

Put some detergent in. Most detergents have a measuring cup in the cap that tells you how much to use for small, medium, and large loads.

If you use bleach, only use a little (no more than 1/2 cup) in addition to your regular detergent, and let it agitate in the washer *before* you put the clothes in.

Now put the clothes in and let the washer do its thing.

Some tips I have learned from doing laundry for many years:
* Wash screen printed shirts (most T-shirts are screen printed) inside out to help keep the printing from wearing off.
* Wash jeans inside out to help keep the color from fading.
* When washing a new colored garment for the first time, throw a clean white towel (one that you don't care gets dingy) in the wash with it. The white towel will help absorb any loose dye so that it doesn't get all over the rest of your clothes.

Put the knob on a permanent press cycle.
Pull the knob that you are turning to start the water.
Water level - large load
Water Temperature - warm/cold
Speed - normal

I couldn't see the writing on your knobs so I'm guessing using what is on my knobs.

Put a half cup liquid soap or 3/4 cup powdered soap while water is running and put in your clothes and shut lid - READY TO GO

WHEN FINISHED, TAKE OUT AND PUT IN DRYER AND START AGAIN.

If you want to bleach your whites, be careful with Clorox it will ruin anything it touches. Put 1/2 cup Clorox into full load of water and 1/2 cup soap. Let it agitate (mix up) and then add your white clothes. Any color will bleach out so be very careful and make sure everything is white.

Add Fabric Softener like liquid Downey by the capful in top of agitator if that is where it goes. Mine goes there. Your maybe on the top side, but normally is says "Fabric Softener"

I hope this helps. As long as you watch the clorox and don't put too much soap - you will do fine.

Do not put Clorox (bleach) in colored clothes. ONLY WHITE

Use the link you provided and go to "guides and literature" There is an owners manual online that gives you step by step instructions - much better than I could explain it here.
