I think that Americans admire no nation that is not their own. They do not admire England at all. They like, rather than admire, Ireland. They loathe many countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Iraq, Iran, France, etc.
I'd say the country they come closest to admiring would be Germany - for the way they have progressed financially and technically since WW2.

I don't know if admire is the correct word for me. Like most Americans, I am in import. My family has been here since the late 1600's. On one side are the Fraziers and the other, the Dunbars. Has my heritage stayed pure to the Scot names? No - why one family member married an indian. I have an aunt that married a black man, whom I am almost sure is not Scottish.
However, Scotland, now part of the UK would be my answer. I was there in 1994 and fell in love with the people. My wife is pure Italian - damn - there it goes again. I guess, if not now very soon we will be all "one".
And another thing. Is it just that fact that we have an idiot for a president, but what is this attitude I am picking up towards Americans, anyway?

I admire Bermuda, because their immigration system is like Fort Knox! You want to become a citizen of Bermuda? You'll need to spend the next 10 years just trying. They have serious restrictions on becoming a citizen and even more serious on a long term stay. You want to stay in Bermuda for 30 days or more, you'd better have a solid reason....even then, their government has to approve it!
Gotta love it!
I respect that little country for protecting its citizens.

I admire England because they may have racism but it is not a bad as the US. British people also seem open minded and more respectful.

Australia, Ireland, and England.
Ireland has the best market and low taxes.
Australia has the best ruggedness and straightforwardness.
England has the best traditions.
But none of them allows ownership of firearms…

I'm going to say Ireland. There's a certain amount of romantic sentiment for the country.
