I bought an item on yahoo auctions and the seller never sent it. I have tried contacting him and he is not replying. When i look at yahoo's claims TOS they say they can only refund $200 with a $25 cahrge which sucks when you paid $722. So i am filing the claim with paypal has anybody won? I heard of websites where people are complaining about paypal. I have full info about the seller Address phone number etc. And a IP address of where he works.

If i dont win the claim with paypal are there any police/goverment orignisations that can help me get the money back?
I am in the UK and he is in the US so its a bit confusing try to find who to work with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and the seller is selling the exact same item with the same description and picture and price

Hi Tim,

I have never had a problem with Paypal although I did see recently someone else who was having a dispute with a vendor and tried to go through the arbitration process - I attached that below.

Basically, I stay away from any vendor that has a low rating if I can help it. If I do go for an auction from a vendor with a rating of under 1000, then I make sure that the cost of the auction is not more than I would be willing to lose if something bad were to happen.

With so many scammers out there, there is no way I would send $500 or more via Paypal or just about any other online service unless I know they are reliable from past dealings.

At this point, all you can do is contact Paypal and/or eBay and advise them that the product you ordered was not delivered and make a claim against the vendor.

If Paypal is through your credit card in the UK, you can try to contact the credit card company and make a fraud claim with them. If it is attached to your bank account, then you should consult with them instead.

Be sure to have kept all the emails you received from the person, as well as all the email inquiries you made without a response. Print these out and store them, and include the email headers if possible that show the IP address and email IDs.

Make sure to check your Paypal account transactions, and the bank transactions on your statement that show the money leaving your account so you can prove that payment was made.

Good luck to you. If you have any more info, I would appreciate if you share it with us here on Yahoo! Some people may be setting their watchlist to see the results and your bad experience may help someone else avoid the same fate. Whether you get the item or not, we would like you to update us on the issue.
