Call an exterminator. When you see one, there are 20 more somewhere else. They are very hard to kill with regular household bug sprays.

Cook 'em with steam! Roaches also infest appliances from time to time like underneath the pilot light in ovens and the motor housing on refrigerators. What can be done in this situation is to use a steam cleaner to drive them out of the machine and into waiting traps.

Here it is. Just mix 50/50 granulated sugar and baking soda (Arm & Hammer will do) and place it in their path. Takes about 3 or 4 days to notice a reduction and 2 weeks later, no roaches. The cure seems relatively permanent, although you may have to repeat some months later.

There are sprays, baits and bait stations. Sprays work well for contact kill but they won't get rid of your cockroaches. Cockroaches will sense the smells and go back into the wall and cracks and crevices and stay away from these sprays until they are gone. Baits seem to work best. I've been treating for german roaches for about 12 years now and all the sprays do is rid your home of these pests for a short period of time. Sure, you're going to kill a few. I've cleaned many homes of German roaches and baits work best. You can call a professional but be careful. Not all companies are honest.

If you do it yourself than here's what you can do. Go to your local hardware store, home center or even Walgreen's and buy some ®Combat roach bait gel. It usually comes in a syringe or tube and apply this gel in all cracks and crevices in your home. All kitchen cabinets ( you don't have to empty your cabinets ). Just apply it in tiny dots about the size of a BB and no larger than a pea. Apply it to all corners of your cabinets and anywhere else you see roaches.

Even boric acid works well. If you have a heavy infestation open up all your electrical switch plate covers and apply in the wall through the switch plate covers.

I had these when I first bought a fixer-upper. The house was left dirty, but that isn't generally what attracts this type of roach. I noticed that they were always around one door and especially around the crawlspace vent closest to the kitchen on the outside of the house. I put a couple of bug bombs inside the house, one outside near the door where they tended to congregate and 3 or 4 in the crawlspace. Some people laughed at me for putting them outside, but it worked!! After a couple of weeks they were completely gone! Now, 3 years later and we have not had any problems with them returning......fortunately since we now live in the fixed up house.

First off....apparently some of you people don't know anything about roaches. People with the cleanest houses can have roaches! How dare you suggest or judge this person without knowing all the facts.
Secondly, the best thing I have found was a bait called 'Combat.' I used this in another city where EVERYONE had roaches! Since we moved to another city...I haven't had any since.
I hope this helps...and good luck.

Professional roach baits, pesticide dusts, aerosols or residual spray concentrates can be used to eliminate German cockroach infestations. Cypermethrin insecticides are the most popular for killing German cockroaches. Mop Up can also be used when mopping kitchen floors and is used primarily in restaurant roach control. The best professional bait for German roaches is Maxforce Gel. Demon insecticide is the best residual spray and can best be used in conjunction with Baygon aerosols. If you prefer to use professional dusts, Delta Dust and Drione Dust are the best dusts for roach control. For more help in ridding yourself of this pest, refer to German Roach Elimination.

Have your house invaded by American and English Cockroaches. But don't trust the French Roaches, they are collaborators.

the same way you get rid of any other type of cockroach. Clean up the place, put all the foodstuffs away in sealed containers, and spray, bug bomb, spray, bug bomb and keep it clean.

If you have any pets, remove them from the area.
