I just got my ear pierced like a week ago and now there's flammation...you kno, red and swollen a bit...twice the thickness originally...should I take it off I mean has anymore had that experience and just let it sit there for another week or more?

i don't think it has anything to do with the material of the earring because i had 2 holes already and they were fine

Try this: heat up a rag really really hot and press it on the piercing for a while. Sanitize regularly for a few days, give it saltwater baths. If it's still swollen after a couple days, go see a doctor.

take the earrings out pronto. you have an bad infection- talk to your doctor immediately about solutions. cleanse your ears with a damp cloth after taking the earrings out for the ease of pain, along with some saltwater on the areas with rubbing alcohol to serve as a disinfectant. don't try to switch the earrings because that will cause more irritation. good luck!

Change the earrings. It sounds like you may be allergic to the metal the posts are made of. Be sure to thoroughly clean your ears too!

i guess thats normal but if it gets worst you must take it off right away!
when you do take it off, dont worry your ears will go back to normal...
but your piercing will be gone ="(

you should probably change the earrings becuase you might be allergic to sterling silver or whatever matirial your earring is made out of. you should also use rubbing alchohal and clean your ears daily.

You need to go to the Doctor. It is not normal and you can set up and infection.You do not want to do that.
