You've really never seen one?
It does not say blue screen of death.
The "BSOD" means that a program has crashed and Windows is going to crash too.
The screen is all blue with white lettering. The error message will be different depending on what caused the computer to crash. It will inform you that you can press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to reboot the computer.
The best thing to do whenever you see this screen is to restart the computer. Even if the computer will successfully salvage the situation it doesn't usually work right until you reboot.
Consider yourself fortunate if you don't have to see this screen very often. That means that your computer isn't very crashy.

Do not follow Yehoshua's suggestion to reformat the computer unless you know what you are doing. You could really lose a lot of stuff that way.

lol It is what peeps who do not know much about computers call a lock up,or when your computer reaches a critical error.
Just reboot,if that don't work.reboot it again go in to safe mode and goto the last progie you been working on and undo the last changes you made b4 ur system went oops!,if that don't work then format the C:/format C:/u/q is the best way to fix that problem. So back up any thing important so you can reinstall it after a format. Cheaper then letting a PC Tech do it.

Seriously? You've never seen it? In older versions of Windows, when the operating system crashed, your screen would turn this medium blue color and the only thing you would see is an error message in the center of it.

You see just a blue screen, 5 seconds later your computer self-destructs.

It's a blue screen with nothing on it. You can't do anything but reload your operating system.
