My mum did this and they were apparently washable, but they still came out all skiwiffy and were never the same, she even tried to iron them!!!

Check if they are washable first of all, if so, then wash them by hand.

LOVE the answer about the vertical washing machine! but it doesn't help you does it?You CAN wash them in a machine subject to the removal of weights, chains etc.How they come out may depend on the fabric they are made from, and you need to use a low temperature short spin programme.Definitely worth while but as some one else suggested, use a pillow case it will help to prevent fraying at the edges.

Yes. Tahe them down then, remove the the link bead chain, roll the slats up and put them in a pillow slip tie a knot inthe end of the slip. wash at 30 spin do not dry them put them up wet the weights will pull any creases out. I have cleaned my blinds this way many times no problem.

DO NOT PUT IN WASHING MACHINE! I was told to roll them up and put them in a pair of tights in the washing machine, so i did and they all frayed and shrank! Now I put them in the bath with some wash powder, leave to soak in warm (not hot) water, rinse and dry flat on towels. They come up looking like new. Hope this helps.

Depends on the material, and removing the weights.
Only wash them on a delicate wash,to keep the shape.

Going by all the other answers Id say it depends on how good the fabric is. The milton in the bath really works-but only on light or white material. It is bleach, think about it.

Yes you can..remove the weights...wash on gentle cycle..and do that rare thing...Iron them before putting the weights back in and rehanging them...oh and a little starch won't hurt either.

Roll up each slat and put them in a pillow case with the top tied - hang them back up as soon as they have been washed and they will be fine
