In what way? Frampton has a better technique - which is not very hard since Hendrix was not a very technique-oriented guy and most guys nowadays do - Vai, Satriani, Metheny, any important guitarist - but no one has Hendrix's energy, raw power, the ability to improvise with such amazing electricity, and, on top of that, Hendrix's songs are so much better that anything Frampton has ever composed, so it''s a vote for Jimi, not that he is "better" because that doesn't mean anything, just he contributed more to what music and guitar are nowadays.

First off they play different types of music. But as far as guitar skill goes Hendrix all day. Just about everyone else agrees with this. Think about it jimi has so many hits its hard to count peter frampton has the do you do song which isn't bad but not quite purple haze by a long shot. So to me hendrix is better. However to your brothers ear Frampton just sounds better and I can respect that. To me Megadeth sounds better than Metallica and know one else agrees with that. To each there own.

Hendrix, were he alive, could play circles around Frampton. Don't get me wrong, I like both but i have to give the thumb up to Jimi.

Frampton isn't even in the top 10 on my list.

Hendrix is, and always will be, #1. He was innovative. The sounds he got from that instrument were unheard of, and many people still try to copy him.

Plus, you try to learn a right-handed guitar left-handed. He didn't flip the strings, he just turned it over and played it upside down. That means learning chords a completely different way than everyone else.
