A dream can be a fulfillment of any particular phobia...
The phobia comes from an experience, conscious or not, but is more than likely realized in the dream....
That is to say the phobia is present and explored within the dream, but is not isolated to the dream. There are many elements of a dream that we are only barely conscious of...
But the world of the dream is a subset of the world of reality, while the reverse is never the case, although it at times appears to be....

I think phobia might be a little strong a word for someone that alters something in some way, in real life, as a result of a dream.

Phobias can be based on one of two things: past experience or from your frontal lobe of the brain. If you, for example, were once stuck in a closed box as a child, you may discover being claustrophobic later in life while stuck on a crowded train. The frontal lobe of the brain in sort of the gateway for our extreme, raw emotions. Sometimes the frontal lobe in people will not censor the emotion of fear/anxiety in certain instances, thus causing us to panic and became afraid of something. Your fear of maggots is not unfounded. They're disgusting! No one wants them lying around their home. Your problem may not be an acutal phobia, it just may be aftershock from a traumatic experience. I would suggest keeping clean, taking extra steps to ensure your environment is sanitary. By taking those extra steps, you'll realize that you're not going to encounter this problem again if you can help it. Then you'll perhaps feel better about things.

I think it can, because there have been likely things I was never afraid of before that scared me a little after I dreamed about them. Just last night I dreamed that my inner child was screaming at me to be let back in because I'd shut her out (no joke), and that is something I always thought I still had. Didn't realize I'd let her get away, so that scared me. Maybe I was always afraid of that, but if something is subconscious then how else am I really supposed to know about it? Now I can consciously do something about it.

Anything experienced that has had a disturbing cognitive effect I guess could cause a phobia - so even if the experienced was not actual the visualisation of it would be enough to cause such a response.

Dreams mostly consist of conjured up memories and
sub-conscious thoughts,so it is possible. But I personally feel phobias stem from unresolved issues.

According to most dream researchers (which i am not) the things that you are dreaming are supposed to be symbolic of something else in your life. so if you are scared of something that was in a dream, that thing in the dream was proabably something else in your life that made you scared. so i am guessing yes, you can be scared of something you only experienced in a dream as it probably relates to something you have experienced in life that was crappy. if you have never parachuted and do so in a dream-and then become afraid of it; that is understandable. for this example i will say that the parachuting is probably symbolic of losing control and the dreamer here would be afraid of losing control and that fear transferred to parachuting in the dream. hope that helps.

I would say no, because dreams are representations of your already existing phobias.
I think dreams are conclusions of unfinished thoughts and also organization of thoughts you have had or feelings you didn't understand while awake.
I believe you can resolve it through a dream though. Try visualizing it before going to sleep, think it through and it should resolve itself in your dream.
