At the risk of sounding odd, I can 'hear' a spider. Whenever one is around, my left inner ear becomes agitated and the sound is similliar to water in the ear.
Anyone else ever have anything like this?

It's called "stridulation". Some spiders have special little hairs that they rub together that make sounds. These sounds are made to show off for mates or to intimidate enemies. Some spiders have these hairs near their mouth and the sound that they make with them is called a whistle. Also, some spiders vibrate their legs in a kind of tapping sound for the same two reasons. These low frequency sounds CAN on occasion be heard by humans. Ah, the joy of youth and excellent hearing.

Maybe you were bit by a radioactive spider during a class trip. I think its all psychoskimatic. You do not actualy hear spiders, you have seen one during a time when your ears were ringing. Or maybe you do have water in the ears. Spiders do not make any noise from what I see. I think you just convinced yourself of this because you seen a spider when your ear was agitating you, now when you see one it reminds you of this. However you should just sit down and realy think about all the reasons why you cannot hear spiders.

Although some species of spiders can make chattering or hissing sounds using a technique known as stridulation, there are no spiders that can make a growling sound.

Something similar happens to me. I was thinking in a 6th sense, because I can wake up when a regular size spider is near me.
Well, a lot of times I just woke up with an spider right in front of me... that is, at least, curious

Well if you have a very acute sense of hearing, I am sure you could hear it pitter patter as it darts across the floor, or if it was spinning a web. But I don't think spiders can hold a decent conversation.I know mine don't.!

I taught my pet tarantula to tap dance. He wears these tiny little shoes and does the flamenco while I play my Esteban guitar. It's really neat, but he can't sing.
