It depends how far back you're talking. At one point I wanted to be a clown so I could make people happy. At another point (after watching Mary Poppins many times) I wanted to be a chimney sweep, because as the song goes , if you shake hand with one you'll have good luck. I wanted to give people good luck.
I am neither and I am both. I am a mother and have been that clown many times, and have always been a person that is not afraid to be goofy and to play.

I wanted to be a small animal veterinarian, but instead a got a couple biology degrees and work in a molecular biology lab at a University. It's a lot of fun when I do field work.

there were three things i wanted to be when i was a kid and they were be a pediatrician, a singer, and a mother i am none of those and the only one i really want in my life sometime in the future is to be a mother. right now im just trying to figure out where my life needs to be and where i want it to be. i will get there someday because no matter what when i want something i go for it

I am proud to say "yes", it is.
It took me a few jobs and a few years to get to this point, and I hope I am as successful as I've dreamed, but I am now what I wanted to be as a child.

no. I used to want to be a bus driver or a police officer. Now, I want to be a Spanish translator/interpreter.

Odd, but true...I wanted to either be a stand-up comedienne or a back-up singer for Pink Floyd. No, I'm not doing either, although it oddly seems enticing - either job. :)
