I'm interested in the requirements you have to meet and what type of questions you get asked at the office. What goes on before you donate? I'm thinking about doing it for some fast cash.

They will need to ask you a number of questions about your health and the health of your parents and other family members. This is because they want to have healthy babies and rule out donors who might pass on genetically carried diseases.

They will also ask about national origin and race. This is because the parents of the children that will be born from your sperm often want to have children that have the background as they do and will look very much like their parents.

They will ask about your sexual history. This is because they want to avoid illnesses that could be carried by germs in your semen and cause an infection in the mother or child. Viruses like HIV are very hard to detect early on. I have heard that some sperm donation sites will hold your donated semen for six months, and not use it unless you come back for a six-month follow-up test. If you test clean six months after giving, then they will know that you were not infected at the time you donated the semen.
