Take a hot water bottle or heating pad and lay on the couch. I get them EVERY month and this always helps.

Take a lot of Aleve and try a heating pad. I got my period when I was 10, but didn't start getting cramps until about 15. I think it has something to do with your body continuing to mature.

I get pretty painful cramps myself ... I swear by the Thermacare patches (specifically for menstrual cramps). I usually wear one for the first few days and rarely need to take any pain medication. If that doesn't help, maybe try some Midol or Pamprin. Hope you feel better soon!

Honey i hate to say it but it could be something really wrong.. If you're still young then most likely your body just isn't used to it yet and they'll eventually get easier on you. Otherwise i would go to a doctor. It could be something serious like endometreosis, ovarian cancer (cysts on your ovaries). If it's neither they'll probably try giving you birth control. That helps with the cramps. I used to get them so bad i would roll up in a ball in the bathtub and bang my head against the side. It was horrible... now its not that bad though. Just a pain in the ***.

hun, u may have never had cramps before, but not every period is gonna be the same... the only thing u can do is wait it out... take some midol, use a heating pad, take a warm bubble bath, or try walking... sometimes that helps... good luck!

I have always had cramps with my period. I have had heavy periods since my first one. I take prescription neproxin for them. Talk to your Doctor and maybe they could help you. I also take a hot bath or use a heating pad. But with me the heating pad makes my flow stop, then when i stand up it floods the pad.
