I work in the Restaurant Business and Recently something very dramatizing happened to me at work, Well during my shift at work I was using the washroom and a man came next to me at the urinal and started to look at my genitals and started to masterbate and was saying vulgar things to me while doing this, I went to tell my GM and said I wanted to file a report and he didnt call the police and he just let the guy stay in there, I felt Violated to begin with and even worse because my GM didnt do anything to protect me because I am a minor.. I work for a corporation chain so I was wondering if I can file a suit against them for Discrimnation, I really need help with this so if anyone can give me any advice about this I would be very thankful

Any time a civil rights violation is not followed up in a place of employment and is non union, you first want to contact the EEOC office in your area. You have 180 days to file a grievance. Since your a minor, your parents may have to file on your behalf. Once you get a favorable ruling from them, get a mean azz lawyer and get enough so your college tuition is paid for the next four years so you don't have to work for lazy scums like them again.

You still can call the police and file a complaint. Tell the police everything and the date and day when happened to the time. Tell the police you went to the manager and he did nothing. Don't forget to tell them everything. Tell your parents what happened so they can get you a lawyer. Start by calling the police becuase the longer you wait the worse your making it for yourself. Don't be afraid to call as if you don't file a report this can happen again to the next person.

as allways with cases like this. the first and most important step is to speak with an attourney to discuss your options.

but heres a quick checklist to follow first.

1) document as thoroughly as possible the time, date, and appearance of the individual, his name if known, and the location where this occurred. this information well be crutial in the steps to come.

2) having spoken with your manager and not recieved a satisfactory outcome. then you need to move up the chain so to speak. first speak or contact the human recourses department for your company. they should be able to investigate and provide a satisfactory outcome. make sure to document who you speak too in HR and what they say with regards to a resolution.

3) if you speak to HR and they still do not help you. then speak to an attourney immediately. explain the situation and ask for your options. provide the attourney with the information you obtained in step 1 and any additional information from step 2.

a court case can be a long and tough affair so be ready to hang in there for the long haul. good luck either way.

also in case you still feel violated by the incedent i reccomen looking into a councelor to speak with them about it. it can help you feel better.
