A concentration was called that because large numbers of people were put in one place (they were concentrated in one area). Hitler had several in several countries where he held Jews, and others who were exterminated by being put into gas chambers, by being shot to death in firing squads, or by being put into furnaces and burned up. Try going to www.history.com. This will take you to the history channel website. Then in the search engine type in concentration camp or Dachau (was a German concentration camp). When looking at the answers, the link Encyclopedia: concentration camps will give you the definition and a list of different eras and locations. The Nazi concentration camps are the ones that you are looking for.
