Well there are some disadvantages to having the wii.
the prices for games are very high but understandible since it is new
when you have to target something using the wii sensor it could be annoying
Advantages
tha games are fun and very entertaining
graphics are awesome
every part of the wii remote is used
motion sensitive is great (cousin got a work out playing the wii sport boxing) lol
So in the end I think that the nintendo wii is worth it because in my case the ps3 and the xbox 360 is way to much money. With the money you pay for a PS3 or Xbox 360 I could buy the wii, controller, and a few game(s).

Ok, for one thing the Wii is just a redesigned Gamecube, if you don't believe me look up the specs on it, they're just slightly better than the original Gamecube. Secondly all the games a geared towards little kids except for maybe Redsteel which everyone says is crap. Thirdly, there is nothing revolutionary about the controller. It's just a motion sensing controller with a light detecting LED bar that you have to place on top of your TV. Not only is the Wii not worth the $250 they're asking for it, it's not even worth the $99 they're asking for the Gamecube.

I don't own a Wii, but I'm a self-proclaimed gaming know-it-all. Here is my pro/con list:
+$250 price tag
+games still cost $50
+unique controller makes for inventive gameplay
+Virtual Console sells great games from Nintendo's past
+fully compatible with ALL Gamecube games
+lower development cost for games lets new developers take chances
+The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess...possibly the best game in history
+FREE online service
+better third party support than Gamecube
-lower graphics grade
-using an ethernet cable costs extra
-lower development cost for games lets new developers take chances
-unique controller scares away less creative game developers, and makes for crappy gimmicky ports
-two large titles pushed back to the end of the year (Mario, Metroid)
-still a lower number of "mature" games
That's all I can think of. Wii is well worth the $250. Xbox360 is worth the $400. PS3 is not yet worth $500, let alone $600. There's my verdict.

YES!!! I love it espesially compared to how much the other next-gen consoles cost 350-600. The Twilight princess was awesome.
In review, get it and the twilight princess and you wont be sorry.
