I'm pretty sure the mobo can handle the processor but i have never used a sata drive before so im not sure how it works.

since I found out the processor wont work for my pc how about this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103627 if you wouldn't mind looking at the site and telling me what would be the best 1 for gaming under $275 it woukd be appreciated.

The SATA will be no problem, but that is a socket AM2 processor you are looking at, and your board is socket 939, not compatible.

I agree with Mysticman. Your Sata hard drive will work, but the cpu is not compatible with the motherboard.

The cpu must be a socket 939. OR
you can replace your motherboard for one that is a socket AM2.

Also, do not forget about your BIOS settings when you plug in your hard drive, if it is going to be your primary hard drive.
