wow, thank you so much.
great stuff, but another wee thing!
the busses in dublin are they any good.
I checked out flights and I would have to be at the airport at 5.30.
Any chances buses run that early?
(I know I am asking for a bit much!)

|For early morning to the airport, you can get the Aircoach. See http://www.aircoach.ie
It's more expensive than the standard buses and goes through O'Connell Street.. Fare 7 euro one way.

If it's a weekday, the 41 bus leaves town at 5.00am and would fly out at that hour of morning and get you to the airport by half. It's much cheaper than the Aircoach. It leaves from Abbey Street. Fare about 1.80.

The Airlink buses that cost 5 euro do not operate until later on.

I've been to Dublin twice, once to meet a mate who was taking a gap year there and once earlier with another mate just for a random two days of sightseeing and pubs! It's too far to walk to the centre of town but the airport does do an 'airbus' which takes you from the airport round the centre of dublin. It can be a bit expensive though, so the second time I went, we took the normal bus into town. We ended up staying in a hotel for about £20 a night for a room for two people which was quite nice (I'm so sorry, I can't remember the name of it). There is an information point at the airport where you can ask about accommodation etc etc.

Also try google. We booked our flights with Ryanair as they had a really good deal and then our hotel separately. We just searched google for cheap places to stay. Here are a few sites:

There are plenty more. Also this one on Youth Hostels:

I hope this helps :-)

Half hour or so from airport to centre on bus.

Some Hotels do room rate which doesn't work out too bad.
COMFORT INN 01 - 4850900 don't know prefix This hotel is in smithfield which is quite near the centre walking distance and right beside the Luas (tram) It is also near a great pub (real Irish, not tourist Irish) The Cobble stone. Musicians just arrive and play.

Jurys Inn Is also in town near Christchurch.

Don't kown any hostels sorry.

Have a great time in Ireland.

The airport is about 6kms from the city-north of it. You should be able to get a bus at that time. They are outside the arrivals hall. Kinlay House Hostel is a very good one and is very central. You can look up these sites which will help you.

I don't think they run that early. Check the bus schedule on website. Have fun!

buses dont run 5.30am but i think there are specific airport buses that run from town, if you look up dublinbus.ie there should be details on that.

Try this linkhttp://www.discoverireland.com/se/ireland-plan-your-visit/accommodation/listings/?l=1all&pts=1395512946 you wont have a problem getting a bus at that time cost about €5.
