A beta is a tropical fish... it will need a different environment from your comets. Betas are also territorial and tend to attack fins first. I would not reccommend putting them together. I normally only advise putting other tropical fish with very little fins (like a neon tetra) with a beta. If you were to try it... you would need a very large tank and be willing to keep a close eye on how they act towards each other.

Good luck!

Goldfish are not community fish and cannot be kept with any fish other than goldfish for two reasons. One is water quality and the other is water temperature. The temperature is really the only important issue in this case though. Goldfish can live without any heat and an average of about 72 degrees. Bettas need temperatures of at least 80 degrees. Also, although you can sometimes combine bettas with other community fish, they really are better being kept on their own.

Comets are coldwater fish and bettas are tropical so there is no way you could do it and have both of them be healthy. Either way 1 or the other is going to suffer. Besides, comets get pretty big and could possibly eat the betta.

I would suggest not to, since Beta's are very territorial. But if you are going to put them both in a tank, make sure it's big. Though not big enough so that the Beta feels it has too much territory to watch out for. It can have a heart attack if you do so! Good luck with the fish!

It's possible. Compatibility seems to be more successful if all the fish in the tank start together young. Have fun.
