Those that pushed for the adoption of the Constitution called themselves Federalists. At the time, political parties as we know them today did not exist. That is not to say political opponents were any less divided than we are today.

The federalists weren't in power when the constitution was made but the constitution was built on the policies administered by the federalists' presidents, http://www.voteprimous.com
