Generally, I think this is false. Many woman celebrate life and live in the present. Money has no intrinsic value to them other than its purchasing power to add to the quality of life -- now. For instance, bread is something the family can eat -- now. It's not easy to eat three bucks instead. Furthermore, men love numbers and the more money numbers they can keep, the happier they are. So, the perception is women spend, but men don't. However, it really comes down to a different way of viewing money and its usefulness.

I think that it depends on which women and men you are dealing with. While it's true that women love to shop from the release of endorphines they receive from it, they also purchase smaller item things for themselves or their loved ones, where as a man is more likely to go out and purchase larger item things, but not as often. More women go after a man for his money, than men go after women for their money, but that goes back to the man being the main supporter. For myself, I don't care about money. I find it to be worthless when it comes to the important things in life, like love, family, happiness...

You can't categorize this kind of thing. In general, when picking between love or money, women are more likely to pick love than men because women have a more idealized picture of romance.
