We are all on a journey everyday and each one begins with one step. The statement applies to everything. However, if the one step begins with your enemy, make sure he or she has a thousand miles to go.

It means nothing is accomplished without action of some sort. If it is the path to enlightenment it means trying to meditate for the first time. It basically means that many small seemingly insignificant occurrences often lead to big results.
