Wasting "their lives" is a little strong, but wasting hours or dayparts certainly. We can enjoy a football game, then realize you just "wasted" 3 hours - but relating is the thought that it was social, if there were people in the room. Same thing with shows that you know others (friends, neighbors, family) are watching -- it becomes a shared experience to discuss the show, later on. Then again, TV is supposed to entertain and inform... and it does so, sometimes at the same time. Now, I know that no one's learning a blessed thing from "24", "Lost" or "CSI: You Name It" -- but if you're 15 and not getting in trouble (by watching some TV before bedtime) or 75 yrs old and staying indoors because it's icy outside, or 34 and the mom of 3 who are at school, and you just want to relax... who are you/me/we to say who's wasting time on what?

television would not make you dumb. It relies upon on the way you make the most of television. If that is as a advantages for hard work or a thanks to relax on the right of the day, that is high-quality. Even healthy. and some television stimulates psychological progression and non secular boom. i'm not declaring you're going to discover that on like retaining with the Kardashians or something similar yet some exhibits are best for you theory smart. that is not a waste. i ought to assert if it interferes consisting of your getting artwork finished then it truly is a difficulty.

The only reason T.V. was invented was, in fact, for the commercials. But not all T.V. is bad, like watching the news.
