I agree with those that say SW Florida...very beautiful...I suggest staying in Fort Myers and do a bunch of day trips to Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Barefoot Beach (has great shelling like Sanibel Island but no seaweed, plus as you walk to the beach you see Golpher Tortoises) maybe go to Pine Island (Matlatcha has nice little seafood restaurants on the beach, reminds me a little of Cape Cod)..Naples has great beaches too, lots of shopping and in March the weather will be warm enough for the beach and you can catch a spring training game at the Twins or Red Sox...Naples also has a zoo, Fort Myers has the Shell Factory and late Feb early March has a fair.....just so much to do and the beaches are better than the east coast and the SW is less busy than the Tampa area; however it is only a 2 hour drive to Tampa if you wanted to go to Busch Gardens or do something else

Well I love Orlando and Disney World. But Florida has other great locations to visit as well! My top two non-Disney recommendations are Sarasota, Florida and St. George Island, Florida.

Sarasota is about an hour and 45 minute drive south of Orlando. It is home to my favorite beach in the nation: Siesta Key Beach. This beach is ranked as Florida's #2 beach (#1 is South beach in Miami) by The Travel Channel for its baby-powder, soft pure white sand. It is the whitest most purest sand you'll find in the United States - ultimately derived from the Appelachan Mountains over centuries.

St. George Island is located off the pan handle near Tallahassee. It is a small island but home to most amazing sunsets you'll ever see, The beaches are beautiful, they have great shopping and even better dining!

There are soooo many place in Florida!! If you want to party/snorkel/SCUBA, how about Key West or Miami Beach/South Beach (Best Place to Snorkel: Dry Tortugas National Park - or the only underwater National Park, Biscayne National Park).

If you want quiet Florida, St. Augustine, Destin or Sanibel Island?

Like NASCAR? Daytona Beach! Watch rockets take off? Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach!

Look for Dolphins? Try Clearwater Beach! Swim with Manatees? Blue Springs (OK, so the water is really, really cold... about 72 degrees.)

Heres a link that lists many Florida cities and nearby attractions. Not that Disney's not fun, but there is soooooooo much more to Florida!!

Have fun!

Depends on what you want out of your vacation.

Beach time - 1 - Siesta Key (outside Sarasota) 2 - Jupiter (north of Palm Beaches) 3 - Clearwater (outside Tampa)

Nightlife - 1 - South Beach (Miami) 2 - Ft Lauderdale 3 - Ybor City (Tampa)

Sightseeing - 1 Key West 2 - St Augustine 3 - Orlando

Shopping - 1 - Naples 2 - Sarasota 3 -Ft Lauderdale

My favorite spots in Florida are Siesta Key, Key West, Ft Lauderdale and Naples.

they are each of a similar value. I stayed on the All-action picture star song in October and paid around $eighty a night. We extensively utilized a triple a chit. i'm assuming the fall/wintry climate months are plenty greater value-effective than summer season and different college trip circumstances. i'm enormously particular all those motels have parking lots, yet you relatively do not choose a motor vehicle in Disney international until you're making plans to bypass away Disney. There are buses appropriate in front of the motels that take you everywhere in Disney. there is likewise a bus corporation (Mears) that options you up at your lodge and takes you to problem-free and that i think of Sea international for $20. And shuttles that take you to the airport. have exciting!!

Sanibel Island is expensive, but it has some of the most beautiful beaches and pristine environment still around. The beach is full of sea shells and you can see wild dolphins, eagles, manatees etc. Key west is great if you want to party but not if you want pretty beaches. I live in Fort Lauderdale but like the beaches on the west coast of FL better.

Fort Myers / Naples area is very nice. Sanibel Island is nearby. Marco Island is expensive, but it's nice too. The beaches are clean, but the traffic will be terrible during February and March... mostly due to tourists who have no idea where they're going.

I love Sarasota. I usually stay out on Lido Beach. There is wonderful shopping up on St. Armands Circle. Great places to eat too. There is a place called Philippe Creek and they have awesome seafood. The restaurant sits right on the water. Sarasota isn't a party town. It's a quite beautiful place to see. Lots of white sandy beaches! You can rent wave runners, go snorkeling, and parasailing. If you are looking for a relaxing place to go....Sarasota is it. It is about 45 min south of Tampa. I highly recommend it!

Pensacola in the western Florida Panhandle.
Home of the U.S. Navy Blue Angles and the prettiest white sugar sand beaches any where in the United States. It's called the emerald coast because of the emerald green color of the water at the beach.

www.pensacola.com will give you some more information.
