warhammer 40000 tabletop help?

hi i recently started playing and now im sarting a chaos marine army but if i pick the black legion which can field any troops do they loose their powers and advantages,
like can i play the death guard and still use nurgles rot,
and can i still use the demons from each

well if you want to use a proper themed army, no. But then again, you can really do whatever you want. I tend to stick with proper theme, such as world eaters being mostly khorne. but most people wont care. granted there may be some guys who would throw a fissy fit over it. but those are the guys you may not want to play in the first place.

Necrons would properly be exciting, i like their visual attraction. OTOH, I additionally like the Legion of the Damned, gray Knights, Catachans, and the Tau. and of direction, the Tyrannids! that's all sturdy, rather.
