You have to be separated to file for divorce---you can live under the same roof and still be separated. If you filed and you were not separated, you need to be worried about the fraud you committed.
Don't worry about him--if it's fraud he'll get caught eventually. I'm sure this type of sneaky behavior is one reason you filed for divorce. If he getting a pay check, they will soon find that out---no need for you to do anything except move forward with your life without him.

Call your state social security. And yes this is very much so fraud. To make up a story that he has no income and that he is divorced? ( divorce is not an explanation to get SSI or welfare though ) but saying he doesnt have a job / no money does make it fraud.

Contact the state agency administering the program your husband signed up for and ask how to report a case of fraud so you are covering yourself. You don't need the grief and you may even get a reward for turning him in.

His social security number is going to nail him............the states are not run by stupid people...........they cross check just about every claim coming in. If he is gainfully employed they will find out just by entering his SS number. If you filed for divorce, why is he there with you? Call the state and tell them what you know (if it is true)they will take care of it from there.

contact the EDD office. I'm not sure what state your located but I know for CA we have a website.
You could also, report him to the IRS when he files his returns.
I do have to say it angers me that my tax money always seems to go to the wrong people...just like ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, welfare people that just abuse the system because they don't want to work...well me neither...i'd rather be on vacation but I have to work

I would call your local department of social services and explain this situation to them. They will advise you on if he committed fraud or not.
