I'm not trying to "disrespect" the younger crownds, we were all teens once. But do any of you have any "teen" related pet peeves or irritations?

Mostly their bad attitude. Most think they have to act like they are badass's and put out a f you attitude. they talk with a lot of disrespect, and act like it is cool to not give a damn. some, not all. I do know some that are going to be great adults one day. the funny thing is I was the teen that you prayed your daughter never crossed paths with, lol. guess thats why I hate the above mentioned attitude. I learned my lesson, and hate to see them go where that kind of attitude can lead you.

I'm 20 and frankly I'm not too happy with the way my generation behaves most times. My husband (who's 23) is completing his bachelor's degree in computer science at the University of Delaware. We live on campus and one of the main things that bugs me is how many spoiled brats there are. For some reason my generation has been overly coddled by their parents. To these kids mommy and daddy are EXPECTED to take care of everything financially through college and even beyond. I grew up lower middle class and the only time my parents ever paid for anything major for me was my car insurance (on the car I bought) for about 6 months last year when I became unable to work due to a severe illness. It makes me sick when I see some young girl wearing designer clothes whining that daddy cut off her text messaging. I have a well-paying job and I don't even own a cell phone. I drive a '92 Bonneville that I bought back in high school while working as a cashier in a supermarket for minimum wage. That brings me to another thing; they don't really know what things cost let alone how to project costs. I was filling up my car at a local gas station and some random girl told me I should ditch my Bonny and get a hybrid to save money. I told her that my car only cost $2,300 and has an estimated useable life of an additional 100,000 miles or ten years. I'm never going to spend anywhere close to $20,000 on gas AND repairs in 100,000 miles. Here's my last and final point; they have no practical skills whatsoever! I was taught how to cook, clean, do my own taxes, fix things around the house, and basic auto repair and maintenance (as a condition of my dad signing for my learner's permit).
I don't mean to rant, but it makes me sick seeing members of my generation turning into useless beings. The attitude I get from them sometimes also makes me crazy

My biggest problem involving teens is how people assume all of us are ignorant and immature based only upon the actions of a small portion of the teenage population. However, this doesn't really answer your question, technically.

I would say my biggest problem is that many teenage boys today seem to enjoy wearing their pants down below their butt-cracks! I'm pretty much a teenager myself (I'm 18) and I fail to see what they are trying to accomplish with this. It won't help them get anything. Not a job, not a girlfriend, nothing. If they want to wear their pants low, it's time for the parents to say "Fine, you want 'em low, put 'em all the way down so I can beat your @$$ for dressing like a convict!" They do this, and then wonder why older people don't treat them with respect. That's what I find to be sad and pathetic.

I don't want to come off as though teens are the only people who do these things that piss me off, but these do seem to be present in disproportionately high numbers among teens. (Also, I am a teenager.)

I dislike txtspk. I don't know what else to call it. Using abbreviations for almost everything. Being too lazy to write out the word "you" or "are". Obscene amounts of "lol"s and "omg"s. "Z"s on the ends of words. No capitalization ever. Extraordinarily rare use of adjectives and adverbs. Often a lack of rudimentary subject-verb agreement. Lack of capitalisation of "I". Confusing "their", "there", and "they're". Ditto for some other homophones. Spelling "weird" as "wierd" (why are we taught that hideous "I before E" rule anyhow?). Okay, so my rant against textspeak seems to have devolved to a rant against general misuse of the English language.

Attitudes toward drinking and smoking. Neither are "cool." Go ahead and do either if you wish (though please don't smoke around me, as I do not enjoy the sensation of coughing), but please don't do it because you think it's cool. Do it because you're too boring to have a good time without it. Pitiful.

Girls: you don't have to paint a mask on your face. You don't have to wear clothes that you don't fit in. (Wear tight ones by all means. I do too. Just don't hurt yourself.)

Guys: you don't have to some freakish hyper-masculine pseudo-stud. Be yourself. Don't wear clothes that are three sizes too big (they're not flattering; I promise).

Paris Hilton is, quite simply, -not- in any way someone you should idolise.

I most hate it when teens ostracise smart people, as though being smart were some debilitating and shameful disease. You know what, it's possible to be a functioning member of society and be smart too. We're not freaks of nature (well maybe we are, but that's not by necessity a bad thing).

Everyone must learn in their own time and in their own way. Life is messy and often, seemingly unorganized. Its not how often they fall down, but how they get back up that matters.
Yes - I do get irritated from time to time, but I also know that if I am the one who is irritated, it means that I have to take time to figure out why I feel that way. This is just how I see it.

I am 21y/o but I hate going to movies that the teens go watch because they are so loud and obnoxious. I know i was like that a few years ago but i still hate it.

Thinking they know better than adults. Thinking they know everything. Not being willing to listen to reason. Snotty attitudes. Of course, when I was a teen, I DID know everything!
