I had horrible morning/day/evening sickness for the first 6 months of two pregnancies. Here are some things you can try:
1) Eat saltine crackers frequently. Every 15 minutes frequently. Keep them by the side of your bed. Before moving or getting up, eat some and wait a few minutes. For some people just getting and keeping food in their system helps tremendously.
2) Preggie pops which can be ordered on-line. They have ginger in them. Supposedly ginger helps some people...Not me. But you never know. I attached a link to them below.
2) Sea bands for the nausea. They are used for sea sickness. They can be purchased at most drugstores. They are worn on your wrist and apply pressure to a point on your wrist that actually did help me. It did not elimate it but took the edge off.
3) Morning Wellness CD (link below). This did not work for me but you listen to it at night and it is supposed to help with the sickness.
3) I was so sick that I ended up in the hospital dehydrated. Therefore I took an anti-nausea drug (your OBGYN would prescribe) and I had to take zantac. The combination of the two kept it under control. Of course I was nervous about taking any medication but they said it would be more harmful for the development of the baby for me to not get any nutrients in the first 6 months of pregnancy.

Couple of side notes:
This probably goes without saying but be sure to keep hydrated with water.
Also, the smell of citrus (lemon, lime etc.) really helped. They were the only smells that helped relieve the smells around me.

I wish you luck. I hope something I told you helps! I know it is such a tough thing to go through. There are support groups on-line that I used to talk to other people going through it because it helped to lnow I was not alone and to have people who were sensitive to what I was going through.

Good luck with the baby....All this hard work is worth it!

Go to your pharmacy and buy EMERTROL (over the counter) it is absolutely safe during pregnancy unless you are already a diabetic, then you need to consult your doc first! I used it for 4 pregnancies, what a LIFESAVER! It's a syrup that calms your nausea. You can also try sucking on hard candies throughout the day to help prevent it. Something with glucose helps. (Steer clear of peppermint though, there is contradicting stuff on large quantaties of it in pregnancy.)

Your baby will still be plenty healthy, lots of women eat very little for the first 3 months and then have large healthy babies! (Mine were all around 9 lbs! YIKES!)

Lastly, drink and eat in very small portions, and stay away from acidic foods :) Good luck and congrats!

A lot of women that suffer from severe morning sickness have healthy babies. Just make sure you report your nasea to your doctor and make sure you don't lose more than 10 pounds. Also, keeping your pre-natal vitamin down is essential. Try eating a few saltine crackers before you get out of bed in the morning. Also, try soup during the day and make sure you don't eat too much. And, your morning sickness will probably subside by the end of the first trimester.

Talk to your doctor about hypermesis and soon. I had it with my son i was sick my whole pregnancy, anything i ate or drank iwould trow up. It was so horrible! I was in and out of the hospital for dehydration all the time. But there are some things that will help, First they have sipositorys (spelling is probly off), they worked all right but made me really constipated. Ask your doctor about a pill Called Zofran. It worked wonders. As soon as i found it i would get sick once in the morning take my pill. Throw up once after that and then i was fine for the rest of the day. It saved me! Good luck

You can't really ignore it but there are some things you can do to help. Don't eat full meals, try snacking on a cracker here and there throughout the day. Drink plenty of fluids...water, milk, real fruit juice etc. Don't worry so much right now. If it gets to be too much to handle, talk to your doctor..depending on where you live, he might be able to get you a pill for morning sickness. I live in Canada and had a lot of issues with morning sickness and my doctor perscribed me a pill called diclectin. Gravol also helps quite a bit.
Good Luck and get plenty of rest

Just be patient. Try to eat as much as you can. If there are some foods you can tolerate better than others then eat those. Try to stick with foods that don't have as much of a smell. Be sure to take your vitamins because if you can't eat well then you will especially need them. Speak with your Dr. about it there are somethings they can give you to help but you will have to make them understand how severe it is.

You have to eat. I know it's hard. I use to drink Ensure it's a meal supplement with lots of vitamans and other healthy things. Try drinking that along with food. If you don't eat it makes it worse.

try sipping ginger ale or ginger tea. Also, for me, eating lemons helped and staying cool. some people get relief by eating a bit before getting out of bed, like a few crackers and some soda. sweet tarts helped me also.

i was really sick my second trimester without being sick at all my first; just remember it does pass and if you are unable to eat food at this point its not really all that alarming... but be sure to stay hydrated... (drink very slowly!!) and if it doesn't clear up and become more tolerable by your second trimester talk with your doctor... they may give you something.
