Hi, my mom has a wusb300n, and gets a speed test of 11000kpbs on an internet speed test on her laptop. I get 5000kbps on my desktop pc with the wusb54g (v.4). What Should I get to improve my speed? Ive been looking at the wusb300n and the wmp300n. is one faster? personally what are your opinions. thanks alot! -George. also, I have a really good computer, so dont worry about weather my comp can handle it or not (xp pro, dual procesor, 2gb ram......) and yes, we do have a wireless N router. thanks again -George

No, one isn't really any faster or better than the other. The choice of wusb300n versus wmp300n comes down to personal preference. If you have a laptop you'd use the USB or the PCMCIA wpc300n adapter, and if you have a desktop then you have your choice between using USB or installing a PCI card in your chassis. These adapters are basically the same, you just have your choice of form factor. The PCMCIA version might have a little bit less speed/range because the antenna is internal to the card... but you were asking about wusb300n and the wmp300n which are both external. Do you've a Xbox 360 instant Gaming Receiver on your laptop? you want this to apply your instant xbox 360 controller (or something instant for xbox 360) on your laptop and it is distinct from a community adapter. otherwise, a stressed out xbox 360 controller might want to be able to hook up with a laptop without something better.
