No you cannot, but that would have been very cool. There is no where to plug the controller, so Sony is making you have to buy the SIXAXIS controller for $49.99.

regardless what people say YES YOU CAN! you have to buy a adaptor kit that hooks up to the ps3 here the link

it is a ps2/ps3 connector that will let you use your ps2 controlers
also if you have a wireless ps2 controlers from any company it will reconise on the ps3 with out using the nessasary hook ups it came with
