As Harley 1 says, in NH : fill out application and recieve learner's permit. Practice. Pass skills test (with a motorcycle you supply). This will get you an endorsement on your operator's license. If you do not have a license, you will have to take the written test as well for a motorcycle only license. If you take an approved MSF class the skills test can be waived.

Check with your state. In some states if you pass the motor cycle safety course you do not have to take the driving portion of the test thru the state. I took the motorcycle safety course, passed, went in the next day and took the permit test., after passing I handed them the card showing I passed the MSC and they immediately gave me a motorcycle license.

I still did a lot of practicing on country roads, parking lots, side streets before going out on busy roads. It is the smart and responsible thing to do.

you apply for a permit then you drive your motorcycle for a while then you go take a driving test on your bike its the same as if your were trying to get your licence
some states might require more or less when doing this

Don't see what state you are from so no way to tell you; check the state DMV website for some specific info as it varies from state to state. Usually have to pass a test, get a permit, and pass a final test

Depends on state but here in NH ...you apply..receive temporary license which gives you time to practice on roadways...with limitations...then if you already have an operators license you only have to perform an obstacle/road test on a closed track.
