I know! He always has a decent record during the season but I think he is.... what... 5-13 in playoff games!?! It takes a lot of poor coaching to lose when you have LT on your side!

Agree,
You have to realize Marty Schottenheimer, has done this time and time again in the playoffs, he is not a good coach when it comes to crunch time. Look at his track record when he was with Cleveland and KC and now SD. He simply cannot get it done in the playoffs. He should have NEVER challenged the interception from Mckee as this was so obviuos it was a fumble caused by Troy Brown and this cost them a timeout. Also why not throw a slant pass to the sidelines at the end with 8 secs left to try and move Kaeding closer? Can't blame Kaeding.

Marty won 14 games for the season and lost only one. He has the best offensive team and the best defensive team. He has the best statistics of anyone. I would not fire a coach who won 14 out of 15 games.
I am a Buckeye and I say, "Watch out for the red vest!" We only lost one game. That means we won all the rest. There would be very few long term coaches if they all had to have perfect seasons.

It seems to me that Rivers tanked the last four games. Do you think they would have won yesterday if Brees was still the QB? The general manager, not Marty, is the one who made that decision. Marty wanted to keep Brees. Of all the commentaries made about this game, Rivers has hardly been mentioned. If you take away the 60 yard screen pass, his stats are mediocre at best.

Generally hard to fire a coach that is winning but I think yesterday's loss will be his undoing.
