People are NEVER born that way. It's a choice they make.
I don't care what anyone says, it's not possible to be born gay. Being gay may be a genetic tendecy, but not unable to resist it. Don't listen to people who say, "They can't help it!" because they can.
Alcoholics may pass a genetic tendency on to their children, this makes them more liable to drink. However, they are only more likely to drink than other by 2%! You can see how little that is. Same thing with being gay. Possibly, though I have doubts on the this, it may be a genetic tendency. But a whopping 2% is no excuse to go gay. 2% can't force you to do anything.
Lastly, did you see ANYONE before the 19 century gay? (100 years ago) No! That's because people can help it. They were rejected by society if they were gay. So, no one was, except for maybe a couple on the entire earth. If they couldn't help it, why was no one gay until recently, when culture started to accept it?
I hope I helped. Don't be gay, it's a big mistake, really. Being straight is the right thing to do.

This is my opinion, though I have read several studies on the topic. I think that there is something about being gay in your genetic makeup. Without that, there is absolutely no way you are gay. However I think that it is also partially environmental. Depending on the environment in which you grew and developed, you get to your orientation. That's not to say that you can't be gay, even if you grow up with homophobic parents, just that there is some unknown factor that can encourage a person towards a gay lifestyle. I also think that depending on the genetic material inherited from both parents, a person can be gay from birth, no matter the effect from the outside environment. Hope that helps ;)
BTW, I mean no offense to anyone with anything written here. I sincerely apologize if anyone finds anything I said offensive :)

Gays are born gay and they are as human as straight people. Sometimes when younger they act as if they are straight because for many gay people it is very difficult to come out of the closet. They suffer a lot before doing this.

There is only one answer to this Question. Yes.
It can be caused by the genes, born that way, it can be caused by external forces. And it can go either way, from being gay, to not.
Examples of homosexual behaviour has been shown in mammals, birds, lizards, amphibians and fish. A pair of homosexual male Penguins will even steal an egg from a mated pair so they can raise their own. Homosexual behaviour is so prevalent in the world, there must be a reason for it to be there, Either God decided everything with brains function of Fish or higher in the world should be susceptible to it or it evolved as part of everything because it helps all the species that exhibit it. (And that is all species of animals on the planet, not just humans.)
There are many hypotheses about what triggers homosexuality.
For instance, it has been found that younger brothers of the same mother, are more likely to be homosexual than older brothers. Medical research suggests that the more male children a woman has, without having a female child, the more likely the male child will be homosexual. This could be because of chemicals in the mothers body, in response to the testosterone produced by the male foetuses while she is carrying them.
They have identified specific alleles of genes if found in men or women and if expressed seem to predispose humans to homosexuality. What causes these genes to be expressed is the question. It could be because of diet, e.g certain foods, chemicals in the mothers body or other something else which we haven't found..
They have identified specific areas of the brain, that if damaged through being hit, a shock of electricity, altered surgically, chemicals ingested, hardening of arteries, brain tumours or stroke, can alter a person's sexuality and the expression of such.
They have recorded many times that when too many of a species is crowded into too small a space, that population pressure that may cause other genes to express and cause homosexuality.
This has been studied for years, and is likely to be studied for many more.

Born gay, and as such, born human, just like everybody else.
As for your friends who "flipped" in high school...sounds like an attention-getting thing, a pack mentality, a phase, a rebellion...bet most of 'em end up married with children.

People who are gay were born gay. It is a biological and genetic fact. If your friends used to like guys and now like girls they were either pretending to not be gay or they are bisexual.

They just make a conscious decision to be perverted.
Many studies of identical twins (Exact same DNA, one gay and one straight) show absolutly no correlation.
Gays would have you believe that they are born with a 'gay' gene but its BS.

being gay is a cowards way who cannot face the realities of life as a man. they prefer to take a femine roll and avoid the male roll and its resoponsibilites. usually amature homosexual spots them and introduces them to mutual hamosexual activities.being born as a homosexual is nonsense the only doctor who pursue this nonsense are homosexual doctors.facts destroy this theory
