I've had my pants hemmed many times and Im trying to explore other options if possible until I learn to hem them myself! Gets too costly! Petite pants look ridiculous on my Im 5' and 100 pounds, slender... Petite pants all tend to be tapered... and actually are too big for me in the waist! Not my style and not worth the expense! Save the smarta** remarks!

Try The Limited or Express...They both have dress pants available in petite/short lengths. You can also find pants you like in any length and have them hemmed...Dress pants are a quick fix. I know the Limited will do complimentary hemming and so will places like Nordstrom, etc.

How short is short? You might want to try Ann Taylor & Ann Taylor Loft. I am 5'4" and size 12 and I fit both their regular and petite sections. And quite often look in both sections of their stores if I can find something. My sister in law is truly a petite 5'2" tall size 0 compeletely loves Ann Taylor Loft. She never has to alter pants.

We both adore their clothing. Espeically their career clothes. Most petite inseams are 28 1/2" and regualar 31". I normally take a 29 to 29 1/2 and have to hem everything no matter what I do. It is easier for me than trying to find something that fits off the rack. Because it very rarely happens.

If you want a short inseam you're going to have to look at petite sizes. And the part about petite clothes not flattering for someone your age is B.S. What's unflattering is badly fitting clothes.

what about guess, banana republic, or some higher end designers usually have good pants. Try like nieman marcus and just browse and try things on.
