I am upgrading most of my PC components and am wondering if I should also upgrade the PSU. Here is what I plan to upgrade to:
-Intel Pentium D 940 Presler 3.2GHz LGA 775 Dual Core
-ASUS P5NSLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI Intel Edition ATX Intel Motherboard
-2GB of DDR2 667
-PNY VCG7600SXPB GeForce 7600GS 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card
-20GB 7200RPM PATA (IDE) hard drive
-100GB 7200RPM SATA hard drive
-Fan controller with small LED display. Controlling 2 LED 80mm fans and the CPU fan that comes with the CPU.
-DVD RW +/- Drive (IDE)
-CD RW drive (IDE)
-Floppy drive
-Wireless network PCI card
-LED case light
-USB: mouse, keyboard, Ipod, and flash drive.
That is my NEW configuration which I have not built yet. Will the Ultra V series 350W power supply (link below) work for the above configuration? If not, in your answer please give me a link to a new one (I prefer Newegg.com).

To the third: I take back what I said about the link. Mabye it was a mistype but that link goes to a search that has little to do with Power Supplies.
To the fifth: I looked at the PSU. Do you even need to run it in Turbo mode?
In general: I am looking for a CHEAP one.

I would suggest a 500 watt power supply to best support what you have now, especially the graphics card, and allow for future expansion. I am using this one (link below).
Very quiet and avoids the cheap garbage without costing a fortune!

no.
But, the Ultra 680, often only $20 after rebate, would probably do well. You've got two hard drives, two optical drives, loads of RAM, and a processor that really needs the power.
And, if the PSU is weak, you might not see shutdowns, re-boots, but instead, the memory will error out, and your data will corrupt, and you will have garble in your filesystem.
My rule is to get the biggest PSU I can find.
Newegg might be OK, but, I still check price comparisons at http://pricewatch.com

definite, it is also accessible to be certain sparks fly out of the powersupply and your laptop will probable close off. In doing this it would want to doubtlessly damage each and every little bit of harware i.e. motherboard, images card, ram, cpu might want to all be damaged. do not do it. I discovered the demanding way. when I placed an less than-powered grant on my equipment. I heard a noisy bang after i began a recreation. I pronounced what gave the impact of an excellent nova come from the decrease back of my skill grant and a burning smell. fortuitously my factors were not damaged, however it would want to have actual been disasterous. extra note: definite, i'm able to verify this. Do in spite of you want. It surpassed off to me. I nonetheless had my unique skill grant and upgraded my mb cpu and were given an excellent powerfull images card. it would want to paintings high-quality with basically countless warmth at the same time as touching the skill grant because the purely symptom. I then all started crysis and of coarse that brought about my cpu and my gpu fan to spin as a lot as complete speed. the better skill draw from my images card to skill this recreation brought a pair of loud bang and a vivid BLUE FLASH (like a digicam flash) to come back from the decrease back of my powersupply. those who say your powersupply will basically close down isn't the total tale. because the temp rises in you powersupply it is going to close down at a particular temp, yet once you've a reaction like I had you danger negative factors. BTW my skill grant did nonetheless paintings after than at the same time as it cooled down i changed into able to initiate my equipment back. I went out and offered a very good 750w grant and performance not in any respect had an issue.

Yes you should! Anytime you add new hardware your power consumption will almost assuredly increase! Get yourself the largest wattage power supply you can afford but make sure its compatible with your mobo.!
The General? Whats he gonna do with that? Glue it to the side of the case?

well 350watt is abit on the low side i would recommend something about 500watt, http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?DEPA=0&type=&Description=psu&Submit=ENE&N=0&Ntk=all
here is a link for power supplys.
since your cpu will take up 100watt, graphics about 50-70watt, motherboard about 50watt. then u have the power to the hard drives, dvdrw etc..
