What Bible verses do they recite when you attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meetings?

Someone I know has started attending AA meetings and he said they recite a series of Bible verses throughout the meeting. Does anyone know which verses or psalms they recite?

Do they remember how the verses go? My dad went to AA, guess I didn't know they recited that many of them, then again I never asked. What happens at AA is suppose to stay at AA. I remember he got a token from AA with the serenity prayer:

God grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change; COURAGE to change the things I can; and WISDOM to know the difference.

Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it:

Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

Many open or close with the Lord's Prayer.

Aside from that, most meetings do not use anything from the Bible. (They want to pretend they're spiritual, not religious.) However, there are some groups that are openly Christian, they might.

Does your friend know the Bible well enough to be sure they are Bible versed and not just the stilted language of the Big Book?

AA does not align itself with any one religion and as such does not quote bible verses. They do believe in certain doctrine among them:

We are powerless over alcohol.
We believe in a higher power.
Spiritual Awakening

The "Big Book" AA's bible is read religiously at meeting like a bible is read at church meetings.
