Yep, perfectly fine. At a year old they can eat pretty much whatever we are eating.
However, most juices are high in sugar so try to get a sugar-free prune juice. I'd even recommend diluting it with a little water as well.
They also make prune baby food which you could try, not to mention maybe just giving him/her plain prunes.
Bananas also help with constipation. Again, you could give them banana baby food or regular bananas. They work just as well as prunes but taste better.
If they don't like prunes or bananas, try mixing it with a food they do like and see if that will help. Good luck :-)

I have a 5 month old and just went through a bad bout of constipation with her just this past weekend... I found the cornsyrup worked with water and warm baths.. and tummy massage... Some people reccomended prune juice to me too.. but I didnt have to go that route.. but I have some on hand for next time. Good luck.

Treating constipation in children is much much better to do naturally such as with prune juice:
Infants 7 months to 1 year should be given prune juice, strained prunes, peaches, plums and apricots.
My family doctor who also believes that laxatives, stool softeners should be avoided at this age also recommends chocolate! It is a natural laxative! Chocolate chip cookies etc. and believe it or not it works... got to like a doctor who thinks outside of the box!
Good Luck!

yes, for sure. Raisins are another good idea, babies like those...thats only if they can chew them though. My daughter had all of her teeth at one year, so thats what i did. My daughter, who is now 19 months, won't drink prune juice or eat prune baby food. If the constipation is a regular thing, go to your pharmasist and ask for a stool softener. Don't use this on a regular basis though as they can learn to rely on it to have a bowel movement.
Good Luck

Go with the blended prunes from Gerber, they don't add as much sugar as most juices have. Give him a tablespoon or two, then wait. If nothing, give him more tomorrow. Call his doc if it has been more than five days though.

Yes it's fine. Just mix it about 50/50 with water and don't let the baby drink more than a couple ounces a day.
You can also try feeding raisins or apple juice.

Either that or the food is fine. If however you try to feed him pureed apple, apricot etc (not banana) that works a charm for constipation in babies too, and keep them regular.

Don't see why not. I wouldn't give your baby to much prune juice.
