I always thought movies about high school were completely off base. Clueless, Never Been Kissed, Jawbreaker... maybe I have seen the wrong ones, but now I am 22 and it wasn't so dramatic. Maybe it is because those movies take place in CA. The elements are the same, cliques, rude popular girls, jerk jock guys... at least college wasn't so stereotypical and judgemental, though I suppose this is just a part of life and society.

I think Can't Hardly Wait is a close mimic of my High School. Although Mr. Moony from Ferris Bueller is a lot like my HS principal.

Take the magic out (unfortunately!) and my school rather resembled Hogwarts in the latter two Harry Potter films. We had school Houses, strict teachers who came down hard on misbehaving kids, teachers who threw chalk of the kids chattering in the back, a headmaster who almost seemed to be living in his own wee world, etc.
