Doctor said 6 weeks and that is fine. I just read a post where some were saying they had sex after two weeks. Seems kinda fast to me. What is common.

I had sex about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks after natural birth with no complications. It was still a little tender though and we waited another week or so to have sex again. Each person is different and if you have had stitches (tearing or episiotomy) you are definetaly going to want to wait longer. If you have had a C-section it will be up to you how comfortable you are. Most women bleed very heavy after birth for anywhere from 1 to 3 or 4 weeks so it can also depend on if you and your partner are comfortable with the bleeding. I would recommend waiting until the bleeding has stopped and any stitches (or staples for c-section) have been removed.

I had sex aroud 4 weeks after the births of both of my children. I was fine. The doc said it was ok as long as I was comfortable. If you have stitches from an episiotomy I would wait until they are gone. Basically do what feels right for you, everyone's body is different. But remember if you do have sex don't forget to use protection you are very fertile right now. You don't want to end up pregnant at your 6 week check up!! ( it has happened to lots of people!!!)

With our first baby, my hubby wanted to wait the recommended 6 weeks, but I didn't make it that long. It was about 2 and a half weeks before I attacked him!!! My doctor wasn't pleased, he said there is a risk of infection by having sex too early. We waited the full 6 weeks after the 2nd kiddo. It was torture for both of us!!! But after I found out about the health risks, there was no question. I would hate to get an infection and not be able to have sex for months!!

i had sex after 3 weeks.
My doctor had told me 4 weeks only because i did not rip or need stitches or had no hemroids or anything. So 4 weeks was his recommened healing time. My friend was told to wait 6 but she only waited til 4...i guess when you feel your body is ready.

I had a c-section and healed quickly. My bleeding stopped at 3 weeks,so my husband and I jumped right back into it after that.Everyone is different though and it will be very sore for her at first so go slow.

That depends on your own body...for example: if you had an episiotomy (spelling) then you may have to wait longer because of stitches and such but my doc told me that it was ok for me after 3 weeks.

at least 6 weeks, but make sure you're cleared by the doctor before doing anything so that you're fully healed.
