If you mean "divine proportion," that is another name for the golden ratio, (1 + sqrt(5))/2 ~= 1.62. The golden ratio is important because, if we use r to represent it, it has the property that r = 1/(r - 1). Or, in a visual representation, a rectangle with sides of length 1 and r can have a square of side length 1 removed from it to leave a rectangle that is similar to the original rectangle. The divine proportion is found in many natural shapes like the shell of a nautilus, and the ratio of elements in the Fibonacci sequence, themselves found throughout nature, approaches the divine proportion as well. This ratio is also considered aesthetically appealing, and occurs often in art.
