if it's got ink & chemicals on it, maybe, but the plain paper probably won't. all kids eat some paper at one time or another.... and a lot of other yukky things like cat food, bugs, their own poop, dirt, and a million other things. Don't worry unless they show signs of being sick.

Don't worry about your friends. You're not doing too much, several activities that you describe you're doing while she sleeps, so it's not like she's getting stimulation while you're knitting or taking the cooking course. Even still, you're doing half as much as I did with my girl at the same age - we spent most of our time outside (though not in classes, usually in nature..) Being outside socializing isn't going to hurt your baby. To the contrary, she's getting stimulated by a change of scenery and hearing people talk about different things (don't forget to talk to HER while you're out and about too.) Finally, based on what I read in your question here, I think the best piece of advice I can offer you is to NOT compare yourself as a mother to your friends and to not compare your daughter's development to other children of the same age (or even older.) Instead, decide the kind of parent you want to be, develop a philosophy of parenting and the life/childhood you hope to offer your child and judge whether or not you're meeting your own expectations as a parent. The question should never be, "am I doing too much with my child, my friends don't do this much with their baby?" the question should be, "is my baby happy, am I realizing my parenting goals and are their signs that these goals are in line with my baby's needs?" Another mistake I see parents make is to create an ideal/philosophy/goal around parenting that works well for them without actually creating some criteria to evaluate whether or not it's working for their child. Just because you like a certain thing, doesn't mean your particular child is into it... so take into consideration who they are and try to get some objectivity around understanding who they are developing into and how they learn, etc... regardless of your parenting preferences. And finally, when you do figure out the kind of parenting that works for you, always remember that it's "your" answer.. it's not "the" answer.. and it doesn't mean what you're friends are doing that is different is either right or wrong. Again.. don't worry about your friends, worry about your family... everyone (including your friends) will be happier when you let the comparisons go.

Probably not. But if it was white paper it was bleached. Another concern would be if it had any writing (e.g. ink) on it. Check the diaper though, it'll probably go right through.

Might get agitated. Might have constipation. But I don't think they will get reeeeeally sick. Depends on how much and what type of paper, though.

I wouldn't think so, but it's not a good idea to let them do it. While it's not exactly good for them, I don't think it will hurt them unless they eat a lot of it. My kid used to eat paper. He outgrew it, and it did him no harm.

I would be verry worried about my well being if I were an infant, who's care is in the hands of a parent who takes advice from Yahoo Answers.

Not to be rude, but CALL YOUR PEDIATRICIAN !!!!!
